Which of these Montecristo do you fancy?

Montecristo is one of the most reputable and representative cigar brands in the tobacco industry.

As we discussed in a previous article, there are Cuban and non-Cuban versions and, as expected, non-Cuban versions are marketed in the United States. At least a dozen versions made by Tabacalera de García Ltd., established in 1969 in La Romana, Dominican Republic, and considered the largest premium cigar factory in the world, are available on the US market. Other versions of Montecristo are also made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernández Cigars and at Plasencia Cigars, both located in Nicaragua, but it is done as a collaboration of those companies with Altadis USA, current owner of Tabacalera de García.

In our store we have some of the collections of this famous brand made by Altadis USA in its factory in La Romana, Dominican Republic. All with the excellence and quality that distinguish it.

A brief review of them will allow you to decide which one you want more:

Montecristo Habanitos

These small, carefully crafted cigars offer a medium to heavy bodied smoke that is characterized by its slow burning and leaves a lasting sensory impression on the palate, with notes of toasted almonds, leather, wood and sweet coconuts, in delicious harmony.

Made in a 3.62-inch measurement and 24 ring gauge, they come in 5 packs of 6 cigars each. These Habanitos are a blend of aged Dominican fillings, wrapped in a smooth, creamy, golden brown Connecticut Shade wrapper. They are an excellent option when you don't have time to commit to a larger cigar, as they offer more flavor than similar sized cigars.

Montecristo Habana 2000 Magnum

The Montecristo H2000 Magnum is made with rich aged tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Peru, Honduras and Nicaragua. Its super spicy, chocolate brown Habano 2000 wrapper produces an almost black ash. It is a succulent, dark and veiny cigar that offers a complex and bold flavor with notes of coffee, earth, cedar and molasses, a bit of black pepper and a touch of sweetness.

These elegant glass tube cigars with cedar sleeves and a dimension of 6 x 50, are perfect for the demanding smoker. They come in boxes of 5 but are also sold individually. The tantalizing Cuban-style flavors and honeyed aroma of the famous Montecristo H2000 Magnum will make your mouth water.

Montecristo White Series

The smooth to medium bodied Montecristo White series is a classic blend that produces a creamy textured smoke, a luscious aroma, and a moderate yet richly nuanced crisp finish.

These cigars deliver a rich flavor, with silky notes of roasted almonds and sweet coconuts, floral and earthy fragrance flavored with vanilla and coffee beans.

The elegant Montecristo White series is one of the most requested by fans of Montecristo cigars for its seductive combination of the most select Dominican and Nicaraguan long fillers with the Connecticut Shade wrapper, selected by hand. This cigar has climbed to the top of the list of world-renowned cigars and continues to earn the highest marks from American consumers.

Montecristo Platinum Cigars

This series was originally introduced in 2002 and quickly became one of the most popular offerings within the acclaimed Montecristo line. In 2007 it was revised and reintroduced with a Dominican binder instead of the Nicaraguan one used in the previous version.

With the Montecristo Platinum series, Altadis set new standards for luxury hand-rolled cigars. Each cigar is made from a supple wrapper of Cuban San Andres, grown in Mexico's legendary San Andres Valley. It has a rich Dominican binder and a special blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan and Peruvian long filler tobacco. That unbeatable blend delivers a bold smoke with subtle spice, citrus, caramel and coffee flavors, floral and earthy fragrances, with Montecristo's signature clean and smooth finish. Solidly built but rough at the cap, this cigar offers a fine burn and an easy draw.

Most sizes within the Montecristo Platinum series are offered in boxes of 27 cigars.

If you haven't tried a cigar from any of these versions yet, what are you waiting for? Experience for yourself what excites many!
